Contraceptives

The following contraceptives do not contain animal ingredients. However they will probably have been tested on animals.

Important note: Unless otherwise stated these products are not registered with The Vegan Society.  The information was supplied by the manufacturers, who may change the ingredients without informing us. Do check first!

Condoms
Latex condoms usually contain the milk protein casein. Some also contain milk powder. However the following are suitable for vegans:

• Glyde Health: Latex Condoms; Lubricant; Sheer Glyde Dams (Glyde Health are registered with The Vegan Society and are thus authorized to use our Trademark Vegan logo.)
• Fusion Condoms: All products (Fusion Condoms are registered with The Vegan Society) 
• Durex: Condoms – Avanti Ultima (confirmed Aug 08)
• Pasante: Condoms – Naturelle, Ribbed, Mixed Flavours, Extra, Xtra Sensitive, Large, Trim, Delay (confirmed Aug 08)

Oral Contraceptives
• Pfizer: Femulen contains no animal-derived products. (confirmed Aug 08)

Contraceptive Patches
• Janssen-Cilag: Evra contraceptive patches contain no animal-derived products. (confirmed Aug 08)

Short-Acting Contraceptive Injection
• Bayer: Noristerat contains no animal-derived products. (confirmed Jul 08)

Intrauterine Devices (IUDs)
• Bayer: Merina contains no animal-derived products. (confirmed Jul 08)
