How to get started
All we need to know in order to authenticate your products: (see our standards)
1. Ingredients: what does it contain? We need to have a complete list of ingredients, including those not usually demanded by labelling laws.
2. Production: processing aids and methods. Please declare any other materials that are used but are not present in the finished product.

What happens next?
1. Assessment. On receipt, your application will be checked and any queries forwarded to you. These are usually quick to solve - we can contact suppliers and manufacturers on your behalf should you wish.
2. Licensing. Once we are satisfied that the products you wish to register fulfil our criteria, copies of a Merchandising Agreement (licensing contract) will be dispatched for your signature.
3. Artwork. Upon receipt of payment artwork can be issued. This can be supplied in most digital formats, or as a bromide or transparency - let us know of any preference or feel free to put us in touch with your designer.

Conditions Of Use
The Vegan Society Trademark is the property of the Vegan Society. However, it is prepared to authorise use of the mark on products fulfilling its 'no animal testing' and 'no animal ingredients' criteria. The Board of Trustees approves all new TM applicants, but not the renewals. We will also authorise use of the mark in catering establishments fulfilling our 'Sunflower Standard'. There is a licensing fee for the use of the symbol which is assessed on an applicant's annual revenue.
Authority to use the Vegan Society Trademark is given for 12 months on the understanding that it can be revoked under the following circumstances:
a) Failure to conform to the standards specified in the Merchandising Agreement
b) Non-payment of the licensing fee
Additional products meeting the Society's criteria may be registered at any time during the 12 month period at no extra charge.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the products registered meet the Society's standards. Although the Society is not in a position to provide technical advice on the suitability of products, it is prepared to offer informal observations.
Permitted Wording: 'Registered with (or by) the Vegan Society'. The Vegan Society will not permit notices which state that it approves or which imply that it recommends a product.
