Local and International ContactsPurpose of Contacts:- To promote veganism and the Vegan Society at a local level
- To support and encourage veganism everywhere
Activities of Contacts: What all contacts do:Possible areas of activity:- Running or being a member of a local group
- Arranging social eating events
- Stalls and free food fairs
- Street collections
- Cookery demonstrations
- Pro-active media work
- Talks (including showing videos)
- Sponsored events
- Encouraging other to join the Society
- Publicizing World Vegan Day
Criteria for Appointment- Vegan for a minimum of 6 months
- Full membership of the Society
- A contact telephone number
- If a c/o address or email address is given it is best if it is checked regularly
- A minimum age of 16
- Enthusiasm and a positive and helpful approach
Support and Coordination- New Contacts receive a start-up pack which includes leaflets, catalogues and relevant literature.
- New Contacts are offered an initial free mailout of up to 200 members in their area — provided that the material to be posted is first cleared with the Coordinator or an Information Officer at the Head Office.
- Contacts are entitled to discounts on Society publications and merchandise.
- Contacts receive regular news updates and a World Vegan Day Pack at the appropriate time.
- Contacts are encouraged to contact the Coordinator or an Information Officer when advice is required, preferably by e-mail.
- Contacts are encouraged to attend the AGM and regional meetings.
