Whether you are thinking of making a long-term investment, buying a house or opening a savings account, how can you be sure that your money is not being invested in an industry to which you are opposed? Most banks and building societies invest in the farming and pharmaceutical industries, so unless you opt for ethical investments, it's likely that at least some of your money will be being used to fund these industries. Even if you choose ethical banking, it can be difficult to find an organisation or investment that is in complete agreement with your personal ethics.
