The Catholic Study Circle of Animal Welfare

Christian Animal Rights Effort

Christian Ecology Link
This Christian group questions the ethics of eating meat and abhors all exploitation of animals. It encourages constructive thought and discussions on these issues and also highlights environmental concerns. The Fellowship of Life
Christian organisation focusing on the Bible, Christians and vegetarians. Produce regular newsletters and leaflets for a small donation.

Humane Religion
Produce a bi-monthly magazine on cruelty-free living and the Bible. Based in America but has a very interesting website covering all aspects of animal cruelty and Christians, including animal rights.

The Mary T and Frank L Hoffman Family Foundation
Founded by two vegans dedicated to spreading the word of God through a cruelty-free lifestyle. They sponsor a comprehensive website www.all-creatures.org which covers everything from animal rights to vegan recipes. This charitable organisation is seeking to reintroduce unconditional love and compassion to both humans and creatures according to Judeo Christian ethics.

Mercy International

The Rev Prof Andrew Linzey
A Church of England theologian. Regularly preaches compassion to all creatures and speaks out against cruelty. In September 1988 at a theological consultation sponsored by the world council of Churches, a report was passed and recommendations were adopted to deal with the failures of Christian churches to teach respect for animals. This report, although falling very short of what vegans would consider acceptable, is nevertheless a real shift in Christian attitude.
