Question: What is wrong with organic dairy produce?

Answer: Organic dairy cows still need to have repeated pregnancies. Half their calves are male, so will be killed for meat. There is also the same distress of transport and eventual slaughter. Cow's milk is suitable for feeding calves - humans do not need to drink it.

Question: What would happen to all the farmed animals if everyone became vegan?

Answer: The meat, dairy and egg industries would gradually decline and disappear. This will enable farmers to breed fewer animals, then allow the animals to live out their natural lives.

Question: What would happen to livestock farmers and fishermen if everyone became vegan?

Answer: Industries constantly change and people adapt. The change to a vegan world would be gradual. Farmers could grow crops such as fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. There would also be a need to harvest sea vegetables.

Question: What's wrong with free range eggs?

Answer: 'Free Range' birds are often kept in 'barn'-type houses, in flocks of up to 16,000 per shed. They are often debeaked. The birds must have some access to the outdoors, but can be stocked with up to 2,500 birds per hectare of land. In large 'free range' units, fewer than half of the birds may regularly go outside. Commercial laying hens are liable to slaughter after year of egg production.Even if it were possible to produce cruelty-free eggs, all of the associated harmful effects on human health and the environment would remain.
