Marie is a student at the University of Montpellier, France studying for a PhD on Sustainable Label Law in the European Union. She graduated from Paris 1 – Panthéon – Sorbonne with a Master’s Degrees in Animal Law, Comparative Law, Diplomacy and Public International Service.
Marie’s PhD thesis analyses the problems of EU Label Law’s in terms of consumer rights. Grounding her work in economic behavioural studies, Marie aims to develop truly sustainable and ethical labelling principles that protect non-human animals (vegan), the environment (ecological) as well as humans (fair-trade).
Marie is also interested in the legal status of non-human animals and the impact of public international agreements for animal protection and veganism, such as the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, and how public policies are shaping the way we eat as well as. She is also an animal rights activist, collaborating with The Save Movement.
