Discover how animal sanctuaries offer hands-on learning experiences that inspire compassion and curiosity

Visiting an animal sanctuary provides learners with a unique opportunity to observe non-human animals in environments that prioritise their wellbeing. Unlike zoos or animal farms, sanctuaries offer a compassionate space where all animals are cared for, free from commercial use and where their individual needs are respected. These visits can support ethical discussions, deepen understanding of different species and encourage empathy towards other animals.

Below on the map, you will find a regularly updated list of sanctuaries across the UK that welcome educational visits. If you know of any other vegan sanctuaries or notice that this list needs updating, please let us know by emailing web[at]vegansociety[dot]com.

*Please note that the animal sanctuaries featured on the map are not endorsed by The Vegan Society. To find out information about a specific sanctuary, please visit their website.
