Brighton’s original plant-based cook-off returns. Some of the city’s most
exciting chefs, many who don’t normally cook vegan, each create a
plant-based dish for the evening. Diners taste every dish and vote for their
favourite, with the top three going through to a Grand Final in spring 2027.
First held in 2010, the Vegan Challenge was one of the first events to
champion plant-based eating as a more sustainable choice and won a PETA
Proggy award. Last year’s event sold out within 24 hours, and seats are
limited.
Chefs taking part across the two heats include Cashew Catering, Ospalla in
the Raw, Bonsai Plant Kitchen, Reading Room, Beelzebab, Red Roaster, Fumar
Cozinha, Papa Dumpling, The Market, B’Neen, Selvin Perez, Jes James of Lost
in the Lanes and Gemma Ogston.
