I am currently doing a PhD in philosophy, working on the concept of animal homes. I am developing an account of home as a key site of self-determination and flourishing for animal agents, whether human or nonhuman, and aim to argue that nonhuman animals have a right to home.
My academic interest in animal rights grew out of years as a freelance journalist covering both farmed and wild animal issues.
I have been vegan since 2020 and have been active in animal advocacy ever since, doing a combination of public outreach and volunteering to build a better world for animals. But my current favourite way to help animals is by destringing pigeons.
