The AGM has been rescheduled to Saturday 15 August 2020
The UK Government has introduced legislation which includes a temporary update in relation to voting at AGMs, EGMs and other meetings. The Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020 includes legislation that gives organisations the temporary right to undertake these democratic processes entirely in a virtual manner, making use of online meeting and voting systems. As a result, the society’s AGM will be held entirely online this year. Members will be contacted to confirm the arrangements with the notice of the meeting and ballot papers by email, if we have an email address for them, or, if not, by post in July. Anyone who is unable to vote online will still be able to vote in advance by proxy by post.
Only member registered as vegan are eligible to vote at the AGM so please contact membership[at]vegansocity[dot]co to update your record if necessary. Members of the society are able to view the 2019 Annual Report and Accounts here. Members will to take part in the ballot will need to have joined The Vegan Society by 9am on Monday 10 August.
