The Vegan Society is working with Hillside to rehome 90 cows on the back of the Grow Green campaign, but we need more funds

Hillside animal sanctuary was founded in 1995, and has since rehomed around 2,000 animals in their spacious 2,000 acre surrounds. The animals they provide a forever home for are often rescued from the farming industry.

The Vegan Society are incredibly grateful to Hillside, who are playing a vital role in our Grow Green campaign.

Grow Green aims to tackle climate change and environmental degradation through encouraging a transition from animal farming to growing crops for human consumption. Last year brought news of Jay, a farmer who heard about the campaign and decided to rehome his cows rather than send them to slaughter. You can read more about Jay and his inspiring story here

Wendy and her team will be helping to move the 60 cows, 30 of whom are pregnant, from Jay’s farm sometime in the coming months. It is a heart-warming thought that the 30 cows will be born to live out their entire lives in a sanctuary. However, money will have to be raised to ensure their safe transport, and subsequent care.
