Florencia Alvarado is a PhD researcher in anthropology whose work focuses on veganism, food anthropology and medical anthropology, with particular attention to Argentina. She holds an MSc in Medical Anthropology and Global Health and specialises in qualitative social research, ethnography, and cultural analysis. Her doctoral research examines veganism as a contemporary social movement, exploring the ethical, health-related, and cultural dimensions of plant-based food practices.
Alongside her academic work, she is the founder and director of Ethos Food Research, a consultancy based in Cornwall (UK), that conducts applied research on food systems, ethics, and social practices. Her work bridges academic research and practice, contributing to wider debates on sustainable food systems, ethical consumption and plant-based transitions from a global and culturally grounded perspective.
