The Vegan Society continues its ground-breaking partnership with Mercedes-Benz, with the launch of the all-new electric C-Class
The latest incarnation of the benchmark saloon is the second Mercedes-Benz model to offer vegan interior fittings certified by The Vegan Society’s market-leading Vegan Trademark, following the launch of the GLC with EQ Technology in 2025.
The C-Class can be ordered to include high quality ARTICO replica leather seats, plus other interior fittings, from the steering wheel to door trims and centre console - all tested and certified vegan by The Vegan Society’s Trademark Team.
This confirms that the materials contain no animal ingredients or derivatives of animal origin, and have not involved animal testing conducted at the initiative of the company or on its behalf.
“The Vegan Trademark Team is delighted to continue its relationship with Mercedes-Benz and it's fantastic to see this beautiful new all-electric model launched with the option of a vegan certified interior,” says Karen Spinner, Sales and Marketing Manager at the Vegan Trademark.
The world's leading certification system for vegan products tested a total of around 100 material components from various Mercedes-Benz suppliers in accordance with Vegan Trademark certification standards. These high standards were particularly important to Mercedes-Benz in its choice of which independent organisation used to certify its new interior.
Mercedes-Benz’s vehicle configurator will be clearly labelled with the Vegan Trademark’s sunflower logo – the world’s most recognised vegan certification standard - in order to help car buyers specify their new C-Class.
“We have been impressed throughout the certification process by Mercedes-Benz's commitment to offering a vegan alternative to their customers and we hope other automotive brands will be inspired to follow their lead,” adds Ms Spinner.
