Dr Caroline Gorden is a Reader in Criminology and Criminal Justice and co-director of Cyfiawnder: The Social Inclusion Research Unit at Wrexham Glyndwr University (UK). Caroline's research interests include factory farming in relation to animal abuse and climate change. To this end, she served as an expert witness in support of a legal case against the UK Government to ban the intensive farming practices that are widespread practice. Harm to non-human animals is an overlooked area in Criminology.

Northbrook MET college in Worthing, Sussex launched it’s first ever vegan cookery course. It is creative, social, fun and dedicated to cruelty-free eating. It runs for 6 evenings a term and a new term begins on 27th February. It is open to all.

The course classes are as follows:

*Cooking with Tofu (how to use and create dishes with this marvellous and versatile ingredient)

*Protein rich meals with lentils, beans, peas and seiten

*Sauces. Hot and cold. Sweet and savoury.

*Cakes and cookies.

*Picnic, party and finger-food.
