I recently completed my PhD in History at Loughborough University, where I examined the lives and ideas of Henry Salt (1851–1939) and Anna Kingsford (1846–1888) through an animal–human biographical lens, foregrounding encounters with non-human animals as formative sites of ethical and intellectual development. I am currently revising this research into my first monograph and actively pursuing postdoctoral opportunities. My work brings together intellectual history and animal history to explore the historical formation of animal ethics and changing understandings of human–animal relations in nineteenth-century Britain. I am always glad to hear from others working on related questions; further information, including publications and links to my work, can be found on my personal website, and I can also be contacted via Bluesky.
