Wolverhampton was the place to be on Saturday the 26th of October 2013 for the sixth annual West Midlands Vegan Festival.

Hosts of the UK Vegan Awards 2013, the festival organisers recognised and celebrated achievements in several categories during the event. Staff at The Vegan Society were delighted that The Vegan magazine was voted ‘Best Vegan-Friendly Magazine 2013’. A big thank you to everyone who gave The Vegan their vote.

Birmingham’s own Vegan Fair proved to be extremely fruitful, offering healthy and environmentally-friendly vegan food in the heart of the bustling city.

With over 40 stalls, attendees enjoyed free samples and recipes throughout the day, top tips and cooking demonstrations. Lobbying for campaign groups and local animal sanctuaries – we love what these stall holders do.

The Vegan Society was there and staff and volunteers enjoyed the busy summer event. We spoke to many people, and signed up some new members!

Delicious and warming, this dessert is great straight from the oven with vegan custard, cream or ice cream.

Flavour, texture, consistency … this is a dead ringer for the real thing!

These small and tasty croquettes would go well with a cheezy dipping sauce or guacamole – perfect for a summer picnic!

...because what Sunday roast would be complete without it?
