Visitors to this year’s Cheltenham Science Festival were invited to join The Vegan Society for a discussion about the links between the food we eat and climate change.

On Wednesday 5 June, our panel discussion with Dr Richard Twine, Professor Tim Lang and Dr Tara Garnett, ‘Meat and Potatoes or Two Veg’, was delivered to a captive audience of around 200 people.

Wondering what to buy for a vegan? Wonder no more, we've got you covered.

Numerous publications to help you remain happy and healthy as a vegan.

The Vegan Society stall at the 2012 West Midlands Vegan Fair was the first 100% volunteer-run Vegan Society stall, and it proved to be incredibly effective in terms of vegan outreach. Local Contact, Frank Thunder, coordinated a team of enthusiastc volunteers to run the stall - and they all had a blast!

We really appreciate the help of volunteers at events like these. Having other people run stalls for us means The Vegan Society can:

Meat reduction necessary for global food security.

"Perpetuating a myth that meat is and will always be intrinsically desirable"

Leaving aside the discussion about whether or not in vitro meat (IVM)  is capable of reducing (non-human animal) suffering; reducing environmental impact and positively affecting human health, The Vegan Society considers that at the present time in vitro meat is a distraction from its core work of advocating plant-based (vegan) diets.

November is World Vegan Month.

November is a big month for us. Way back in November 1944 our founding members coined the word 'vegan' and started the world's first vegan society.

We reckon this is a pretty good reason to dedicate an entire month to all things vegan, don't you?

How will you celebrate?

You'll find lots of fun vegan events happening around the world every year during the month of November; festivals, fairs, bake sales...how could you mark the occasion?

Support our work while discovering exciting new vegan products.
