Wednesday 17 October 2012

The Vegan Society stall at the 2012 West Midlands Vegan Fair was the first 100% volunteer-run Vegan Society stall, and it proved to be incredibly effective in terms of vegan outreach. Local Contact, Frank Thunder, coordinated a team of enthusiastc volunteers to run the stall - and they all had a blast!

We really appreciate the help of volunteers at events like these. Having other people run stalls for us means The Vegan Society can:

  • Be present at events staff may not be able to attend
  • Concentrate our resources on other projects
  • Save on staff expenses, freeing up money for other projects and events

The Festival itself was a huge success, located in two halls comprising many stalls, with talks and workshops throughout the event.

The high number of Festival visitors kept the volunteer team very busy and they were able to engage with many people eager for more information about veganism and the work of The Vegan Society. A day well spent!

We'd like to thank Ruth Sanderson-Dredge, Napak Thontasen, Marcus Dredge, Richard Molyneux, Louisa Malone, Robb Masters and Frank Thunder for running such a successful stall.

The West Midlands Vegan Festival is run independently by Midlands Vegan Campaigns (MVC)

If you would like to coordinate a volunteer-led Vegan Society stall at an upcoming event, please contact your Volunteer Development Coordinator, Alex Douglas.
