The Vegan Society has witnessed a huge jump in the number of visitors to its web shop following the rebrand of VEG 1.
Last month, the charity unveiled a whole new look for the nutritional supplement that was developed specifically for vegans to make taking key vitamins and minerals as easy as possible.
VEG 1 provides an affordable, reliable source of vitamins D3, B12, B2 and B6, folic Acid, iodine and selenium.
In the two weeks following the launch on June 7, shop visits increased 87% while the number of transactions went up by 31% and revenue from the multivitamin sales was up 28% - compared to two weeks prior.
Unlike before, in which VEG 1 was packaged in white plastic pots, the packaging is now made from aluminium – making it 100% plastic-free and fully recyclable. The rebrand was two years in the making and was initially inspired by comments for more sustainable packaging from VEG 1 customers.
As well as seeing an increase in traffic and sales, user feedback has also proved extremely positive with many thanking the VEG 1 team for making the switch.
“You finally you did it plastic free, congrats!”
“Really happy these now come in plastic free packaging!”
“I'm a regular user and so happy to see the tub is now plastic free. Can think of plenty of ways to reuse these little beauts”
Steve Hamon, Head of Business Development at The Vegan Society, added: “We were conscious that veganism and sustainability often go hand-in-hand and knew we needed to commit to taking those next steps to make our VEG 1 multivitamin accessible and recyclable.”
“We’re so glad we listened to our VEG 1 customers and couldn’t be happier with the final outcome. To see an increase in sales alongside positive feedback from those who love VEG 1 is fantastic. We now know it looks as good on the outside as the vitamins are on the inside.”
The Vegan Society have today (25 June) launched a new competition alongside Ecotricity and The Vegan Kind. The prize is a one year’s supply of VEG 1 for you and friend, and a £100 voucher for The VeganKindSupermarket.
