The 2026 AGM of The Vegan Society will take place on Saturday 16 May from 1pm
Format
We have found that online meetings have enabled more members to attend and participate. This member engagement at the AGM is extremely important to Council. The AGM will therefore be held online in 2026. We have also explored the costs of a hybrid meeting however, unfortunately, to provide a good quality hybrid experience is prohibitively expensive.
Members’ proposals
Council welcomes members’ proposals to the AGM. These should:
- Be proposed and seconded by full members
- Not exceed 300 words, including any supporting material
- Propose a single form of action (not be a composite proposal nor simply a statement of opinion).
Proposals must be submitted by 4pm, on 5 January 2026 to the Chair of Council Paras Shah at chair[at]vegansociety[dot]com or send a letter for the attention of the Chair to Donald Watson House, 21 Hylton St, Birmingham, B18 6HJ.
We strongly encourage anyone thinking of proposing a resolution to get in touch with the Chair at chair[at]vegansociety[dot]com as soon as possible to discuss their idea. The Chair can provide guidance to ensure that a resolution can go forward to the membership and can ensure that all the requirements for a valid proposal are met, such as proposers and seconders being valid members of the society. Proposals not received by 4pm on 5 January 2026 or which otherwise do not meet the requirements under the Articles of Association will be rejected.
Further details, including about member applications to become a trustee, will be shared with members in early 2026.
You can join as a member to participate in voting or to attend the AGM. From just £2 per month, you will also get access to our quarterly magazine (The Vegan), Members' Nutrition Hub, exclusive competitions and more!
