Fiona Oakes vegan marathon runner

Message from The Vegan Society CEO, Jasmijn de Boo

Dear Vegan Society Supporter,

Please sponsor Elite vegan runner Fiona Oakes for the toughest foot race on earth: the Marathon des Sables, and raise funds for The Vegan Society.
The Marathon des Sables is 154 miles (245 km) across the Sahara, over 6 days. Runners carry all their own food and supplies (bar water) in temperatures up to 50 deg. C (approx. 130 deg. F). Fiona’s gruelling journey starts on Good Friday 6 April and lasts until Monday 16th April.
Fiona is raising funds for The Vegan Society, her own animal sanctuary Tower Hill Stables and Facing Africa, a medical aid charity. We hope that Fiona's extreme challenge will be matched by generous sponsorship. We will use funds raised for us to support The Vegan Pledge, our popular vegan mentoring scheme. Around 200 vegan-curious Pledgers explore delicious vegan food each month, and many go on to be vegan. The Vegan Pledge costs us only £ 1.50 per person.
Please donate £ 15 to sponsor Fiona in the toughest race on earth, and the chance to help 10 people go vegan. Help us expand our successful Vegan Pledge scheme even further. Please donate online: http://www.towerhillstables.com/mds2012.html or if you prefer, to The Vegan Society directly (please indicate the donation is for Fiona Oakes), or by cheque.

Thank you for your generosity,
Jasmijn de Boo
