» Vegan Trail launches at Speciality & Fine Food Fair

Vegan and plant-based businesses will benefit from a brand-new trail launching at this year’s Speciality & Fine Food Fair show.

The Vegan and Plant-Based Trend Trail, in partnership with The Vegan Society, will give brands from the vegan and plant-based world a chance to showcase new products and offer tasting sessions - ultimately encouraging the 10,000 buyers attending to network with these business owners at the forefront of the ever expanding vegan movement.

The Speciality & Fine Food Fair is the UK’s leading showcase for artisan food and drink and brings together buyers with those in retail, hospitality, manufacturing, food service and wholesale.

As well as the Vegan Trail there will also be a Sustainability Trail, allowing visitors to link up with those companies focusing on the importance of sustainable and health products and a Non-Food Trail, another new one for this year.

The 2021 edition of the show will also feature the inaugural Speciality & Fine Food Fair Awards – designed to recognise individuals and businesses in the food and drink community. The award categories include Product of The Year, Rising Sustainability Star, Independent Retailer of the Year and Outstanding Industry Champion.

Neneh Buswell, Events and Communications Officer, said: “The Business Development Team here at The Vegan Society are excited to be collaborating with the Speciality & Fine Food Fair as they launch the first-ever Vegan and Plant Based Trend Trail at this year’s show. This trail will really introduce those all-important buyers to the right producers, raising brand visibility and boosting their profit for the year ahead.”

“With consumers becoming more conscious about the products they are purchasing, and the pandemic encouraging 1 in 4 Brits to cut back on animal products, it’s more important than ever for brands to cater for the ever-growing market. We're thrilled to be supporting that growth with over 53,000 products globally registered with the Vegan Trademark.”

Philippa Christer, Speciality & Fine Food Fair Event Director, added: "In recent years we've seen a huge number of innovative vegan and plant-based products launching into the market and it's clear that this is a key area of interest for the food and drink buyers that attend Speciality & Fine Food Fair. We're excited to launch The Vegan & Plant-Based Trail, which will be guiding buyers around some of the Fair's most exciting producers and thrilled that The Vegan Society will be on the trail, showcasing their VEG 1 nutritional supplement and sharing their vast knowledge and expertise with our visitors."

The Speciality & Fine Food Fair takes place at Olympia London from 6-7 September.
