This World Health Day, our dietitian Heather collaborates with charity Shine to explain what vegans need to know about this B vitamin.

Crispy Split Pea Avocado ToastIngredients

  • 1/2 cup green split peas
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1  piece whole wheat bread (gluten free if desired)
  • 1  avocado
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

This recipe is ideal for adding a personal twist. You can make it your own by using whatever beans, vegetables or grains you have at home.

The event celebrates healthy and environmentally-friendly lifestyles, including:

·        ‘Have a go’ crafts;

·        Music on the bandstand;

·        Vegetarian and vegan food options;

·        Ideas for eating healthily and helping the environment;

·        Getting outside and exploring green spaces;

The Twilight Bark Ball is a prestigious black tie event that will be held in aid of three UK registered charities: Dogstar Foundation, International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals and Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home. This event aims to raise vital funds in aid of dogs both at home and abroad, allowing the charities to carry on their fabulous work such as rescuing and rehoming animals, educating communities and fighting the dog meat trade.

A fantastic festival with hot food, stalls, talks, and much more. There will be 50 stalls and some speakers to teach more about vegan lifestyle. This is a grass roots not for profit event run by local vegans to promote veganism.
