“Very professional, clear and articulate. Particularly liked the emphasis on health and prevention of diseases”

This is what one attendee of our Fringe Event,  Reforming Public Health Advice thought, and if the lively discussion that ensued was anything to go by, many at the well-attended event had similar feelings.

Dr Matthew Cole, Professor Claire Molloy, and Dr Kate Stewart of our Research Advisory Committee put forward that The Green Party should propose the banning on all advertising of meat and dairy products, as well as processed food, on television before 9pm.

Instead of asking people to add fruit & vegetables to meals, the panel recommended that meals should be planned around them, aiming to include 8-10 portions of fruit & vegetables each day.

One of the key responsabilities of The Vegan Society is to liaise with policy makers and Ruth Semple, Head of CPPR, networked with Green Party representatives who were pleased to see us making our voice heard at this level. We hope to build on this and strengthen these relationships at future conferences.
