The world’s oldest vegan charity, The Vegan Society, achieved record sales and membership sign ups following the launch of their new merchandise at this year’s Vegan Camp Out.

The Vegan Society 'go vegan' tote bagThe Vegan Society used its attendance at the world’s largest vegan camping festival, Vegan Camp Out, as an opportunity to launch its exciting new range of merchandise. Attendees, who had an exclusive opportunity to purchase from the range before it hits the society’s web shop, were delighted by the new products, which include a T-shirt, tote bag, key ring and badges.

The event was a huge success for the The Vegan Society, who, in addition to their merchandise launch, signed up over 100 new members and sold nearly 100 units of VEG 1 and VEG 1 baby and toddler – both record numbers for the society at an event.

Stephen Sanders, Senior Supporter Services Coordinator at The Vegan Society, commented on the record number of membership sign ups over the weekend, saying:

“Vegan Camp Out was a fantastic weekend made even better by the opportunity to meet and connect with existing Vegan Society members as well as the unprecedented levels of interest in new membership sign ups. It was a joy to be able to share the important work we do with fellow vegans and have such a great number of them choose to support us.

The money from our membership fee goes straight back into the society to fund our work, including our campaigns, our nutrition and education resources, and our vegan rights advocacy. Support from the vegan community is invaluable in helping us achieve our goals and it’s hugely appreciated.”

The Vegan Society was first established in 1944 and has served to educate and assist people on their vegan journey in the decades since. Searching for new ways to support vegans, the society began producing VEG 1 in 2005, the packaging has since undergone a plastic-free transformation and the range has expanded to include VEG1 Baby and Toddler, a supplement designed specifically with young children in mind.

Joe Flynn, Business Operations Manager at The Vegan Society, was delighted with the level of interest in VEG 1 and the new merchandise at Vegan Camp Out, commenting:

“Vegan Camp Out marked a resounding triumph for the VEG 1 team. The surge in interest reaffirms our belief that the vegan community is increasingly seeking accessible, affordable support to complement their well-balanced vegan diet. As the premier nutritional vitamin and mineral supplement crafted by vegans for vegans, VEG 1 stood out by not only achieving unprecedented sales at the event but also by forging meaningful connections with fellow vegans. Our interaction with like-minded individuals allowed us to extend our unwavering support to both new and established vegans.

Additionally, we take great delight in announcing the debut of our latest merchandise collection, met with an overwhelming wave of favourable responses and sales. This exciting range will be available for purchase on our web shop very soon. Among the highlights are our cute "Save the Planet" T-shirt, alongside an array of other offerings, including children's games, badges, cork tote bags, charming key rings, and food charts.”

Proceeds from the sales of VEG 1 and The Vegan Society’s merchandise all go directly back into the charity to enable them to continue the work they do supporting vegans and running impactful campaigns. Members of the society get 10% discount on VEG 1 and the newly launched merchandise, as well as offers from many of the society’s Trademark holders and access to The Vegan, the society’s quarterly magazine.
