Jeanette Rowley is the Chair of the Vegan Society’s International Rights Network and founded the International Vegan Rights Alliance in 2012 which merged with The Vegan Society in 2019. She works as an advisor to The Vegan Society and manages the society’s vegan rights service.

Ronja Berthold is the European Vegetarian Union’s (EVU) Head of Public Affairs. Ronja holds a master’s degree in Non-profit Management and Public Governance. Her expert knowledge includes vegan and vegetarian food labelling as well as agricultural and food policies in Germany and the EU. EVU is Europe’s umbrella organisation of vegan and vegetarian societies and associations and as such puts vegetarian topics on the European political agenda. 

Ralf Müller-Amenitsch is a German lawyer who works in his own law office in Berlin. He specialises in labour, social, family law and is a global pioneer in vegan law. He was born in 1963 in Bavaria, is married and studied in Bonn, Gemany, and Lausanne, Switzerland. 

He is author of the first German book on vegan law ‘Vegan im Recht’ published in 2016 and in 2018 (second edition). 

Mr. Karp is a lawyer who exclusively practices animal law throughout the States of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

Angela is an Australian lawyer who has been vegan for over 15 years. She was previously Chair of the New South Wales Young Lawyers Animal Law Committee and organised and chaired Australia’s first animal law conference. She later ran the Pro Bono Animal Law Service (PALS), a legal referral service connecting animal protection advocates seeking legal advice and assistance with pro bono lawyers. Angela also spent a number of years undertaking vegan education and supporting vegans in Japan.
  

A new piece of research published this week suggests that drastically shifting agricultural production from animals to plant-sourced foods could remove more than a decade of our carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere. 

In this early Autumn edition of Research News, RAC member Josh Milburn and colleague Sara Van Goozen consider the impact that warfare has on animals and, specifically, the place of animals in just-war theory.

On Sunday 27th September there will be a Vegan Mini Market at The Parade Shops, Shrewsbury.

There will be ten stalls selling wonderful vegan products, specially selected because of their quality and popularity.  There is a cafe on site which will be serving a selection of vegan lunches, drinks and cakes. The Vegan Hub will also be open selling a wide range of vegan groceries, gifts, and work from vegan artists.
